Angela Armstrong
Nationals for Bass
Born and raised in Longford, Angela now lives near Low Head with her teenage son and their six beautiful rescue hounds.
Communities in Bass want representatives in State Parliament who are passionate about their communities and who will fight and stand up for them.
I am best known in recent times for my work with children affected by family violence, neglect, abuse and trauma. I want to take my work and lived experience to the Tasmanian Parliament.
I spent six years on and off working for Rural Business Tasmania – a highly valued non-government organisation. In this role I worked very closely with primary producers and all the relevant stakeholders.
If elected I will continue to be a champion for children and young people, for more accessible health services, improved education outcomes, address cost of living pressures, access to affordable housing, and a better deal generally for the people of Bass that does not involve irresponsible spending on projects and programs that we do not want or need.
“I will stand up for the wants and needs of everyone across Bass.”
The Tasmanian Nationals will
Support regional communities and end the drift of services to the cities.
Support the state’s agriculture, forestry, fishing, salmon and mining industries and their workers and the communities that rely on them.
Support small business and reward private enterprise.
Support locally trained Tasmanian based nurses and doctors
Support effective initiatives to lift Tasmania’s education results, particularly in regional areas.
Support a Tasmanian-based AFL and AFLW team but not at any cost, it’s time to bench the stadium, rethink and renegotiate the deal with the AFL.
